Recent sightings of abnormal number 27 activity….
[23rd Feb '08]
I’ve been Stateside about 15 or so times now and, I must confess, am one of those nerdy collectors of 25¢ coins with different US States on the back of the coin. I’ve been throwing them into a pot for ages without seeing which ones I had and decided after a recent trip to GDC in San Francisco, to take a look. I had quite a few ‘swaps’ (‘Virginia’ being the clear leader) but guess how many *different* ones I had………27!

New film out – “The Number 27 Club”….need I say more? Oh, OK…
Synopsis
When you’re dead, you’re gone. You exist only in the minds of those you leave behind. You become a fragment of a story; a beginning, middle or end. Tom is dead. Elliot has been left behind. Tom was the front man of their successful band, Finn. He died on his 27th birthday. Elliot is left to decide if he, too, will join The 27 Club.
Jimi Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain also belong to this infamous club—they all died at age 27.

Trawling the net looking for plot ideas for a short story piece due tomorrow, I found “webcollage” by a complete accident and waited for a about three screen refreshes before I found an image I thought was interesting enough to click on – and found this site….27 has been huge in my life from about the age of 7 or 8 when I started to notice the connections and the randomness of finding this tonight just gave me the chills….

I came to be convinced of the power of number 27 years ago. My husband of 20 years, (a life sentence in Oklahoma is only 17), was born on June 27. That date also became our wedding anniversary. After over 6 years being married, with no babe in my arms and multiple prognoses it just wouldn’t happen for me, I conceived on the night of his 27th birthday. Our son was born on 03-27-1989. His father and I were both 27 at the time. 03+2+7+1+9+8+9=27…and there’s been no looking back ever since. Friends believe I’m either an idiot or most often, just notice the number 27 because I’m obsessed. The party-line analysis is that 27 does not occur any more often than any other numbers. They’ll never convince me, or my son, and those who know me best and love me, the people I’m around with greatest frequency, well, the majority have or are coming to accept there just might be something to it. So, along with John Lennon, (always my favorite Beatle), I’ll happily stay hooked.
Submitted with respect and sincerity,

Actually screwed up on the son’s birthday equation, it’s 1+9+8+9=27…
